Remember our efforts with Operation Chance...bringing 3 children from Russia to the US for medical evaluation??

Well, the sweet little 7-year old with cleft lip and palate (Anna) has finally found a home! The family was not looking to adopt (they have 5 children), nor were they familiar with cleft lip and palate. They did not know Russia was one of the most ex-pensive countries to adopt from..but, they followed their hearts! They worked very diligently to complete a home study only to have both parents lose their jobs within a period of 2 weeks (automotive-related industries). Job loss has affected their ability to qualify for loans or other programs.

They are determined to bring Anna home but they need some help. We are asking you to help raise $10,000 immediately to assist with the approximately $50,000 in adoption fees. Trip 1, scheduled for early July, is when many of the fees are due. We have $700 donated already- Won't you please have your children help Bring Anna Home?

See attached document for details. Send your tax-deductible pledged donation today to BRAFF, P.O. Box 2672, Appleton, WI 54912. Or click on the Donate button on our website's homepage:www.braff.org.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

I just got this email.  Oh my goodness!  From what I have heard about the adoption process, the job losses would have caused most social workers to rescind the home study "pass", and Anna would have been back to square 1.
I will put this on my blog later to see if it helps spread the word.

The silver lining here is the Papa-to-be has landed a good job recently with benefits, but the recent change in job status makes loans/grants difficult, if not impossible.

Any help you can provide is appreciated!

Just a quick update on our efforts to BRING ANNA HOME

This is about 20 % of our goal to raise $ 10,000. There is still time to help. Send your tax-deductible pledged donation today to BRAFF, P.O. Box 2672, Appleton, WI 54912. Or click on the Donate button on our website's homepage:www.braff.org.

Thanks for the update.  I wish we had more.  Is there anyway we could take the money Anne's family needs from the general fund (if we don't make enough before they travel) and replace it as more money comes in for Anne?  They must be getting close to their travel date. Sue V

I am one of the members of the family attempting to adopt Anna. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the support and generosity. We really appreciate it, and I hope it helps in bringing me a new little sister.

I just learned that Anna arrived home in Wisconsin with her adoptive family just a few days before Christmas.

Welcome home, Anna!!! Congratulations to her family as well.

Thanks to all who helped Bring Anna Home!
